Carle Gent is an artist from Bexhill-on-sea living in Glasgow who works in sculpture, performance, sound and text.

She recently convened the Study Day on Biological Exuberance at Hospitalfield, Arbroath - a weekend of dance, talks, video, sound and performance looking at gay and trans animal life. They are currently at the start of a practice-based DPhil at the Ruskin School of Art asking how artmaking can meaningfully assist us in recognising the queer and internal lives of non-human animals.

They published The Balls of Alban with Monitor Books and Felon Herb with Kelder Press in 2022.

Kate Paul is an artist based in Glasgow. She makes recordings, poetry, events, performances, and installations.

Donations: A zine with work by the readers will be available on the night, for a donation towards North Gaza: Food, Water & Other Distributions; a fundraising campaign organised by Translating Falasteen (Palestine) in collaboration with the Sameer Project, launched to support families in Gaza facing severe harships. The aid is being bought from existing products in the market and is NOT being brought through any border. A QR code and link to the campaign will be shared on the night and you can also donate directly here: https://chuffed.org/project/help-us-deliver-vital-aid-to-gaza-families-in-need.

Access: Unfortunately, the Doublet upstairs bar and toilets are not wheelchair accessible. Seating is first come, first served, but if you have access needs for seating, email us at spamzine.editors@gmail.com and we will reserve.

We will be livestreaming the event on our Instagram @spamzine.

Please reserve a free ticket in advance here, thank you!

Great to see events like this bringing writers and artists together in Glasgow. Community readings and creative gatherings always help new voices get noticed and keep the scene active. Promoting events online is just as important today, and using an Animated explainer video maker could make announcements even more engaging and reach a wider audience.

I appreciate how clearly you share the details of this event. Your writing is engaging and straightforward, much like a well-prepared business plan that guides every step with clarity.

I really enjoyed your AFK 10 Glasgow update! It’s as exciting and well-planned as discovering all the reasons to explore WHY UAE for opportunities and experiences.

Been using Pico Image for a while now for resizing and compressing images. It runs entirely in the browser so nothing gets uploaded to a server, which I find reassuring. Background removal works pretty well too, saves me from opening heavier software for simple tasks.
