READINGS AND PERFORMANCES

THE LINE UP:

Zeo Fawcett (b. 1999, Dundee) is a Glasgow based interdisciplinary artist working with music and moving image. A 2022 graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, his practice spans animation, sound, research, participatory methods, and installation. Known for immersive works that blend music, text, (faux) found footage, and digital landscapes, Fawcett explores themes of rumination, temporality, and bodily boundaries.

Fawcett’s work often centers on relationship building across unexpected perspectives, whether with children, AI, or animals, and interrogates class and power through intentional software misuse. He has collaborated with the Centre for Contemporary Arts, the Scottish Children’s Parliament, Red Note Ensemble, and Hebrides Ensemble, and was part of the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme (CAPPA). His work is held in collections including Dundee Contemporary Arts. In 2023, he received the Craig Armstrong Prize for his contributions to time based media.

Ian Macartney works with words, sounds, images and other people. Previous publications include languishing, cute (with Maria Sledmere; Tapsalteerie), sun-drunk (Stewed Rhubarb Press) and The Infinite Fury and other stories (Strange Region). Shorter work has appeared in PROTOTYPE, The Poetry Review and SPAM. He runs the small press sincere corkscrew, fronts the band Texture Texture, and lives in Glasgow.

Madeleine McCluskey is a recent graduate of the University of Glasgow, aspiring novelist and editor with Big Red Cat zine. A lifelong believer in witches, her prose repeatedly strays into dark corners of the grotesque, gothic and uncanny. She examines themes of femininity, family history and plural selves by situating the real and the surreal in uneasily close quarters.

Charlie McIlwain was born in 1999. There is no danger.

Sean McLeod has been published widely and discreetly.

Tom Byan Shaw is a poet, interdisciplinary artist, and researcher working at the intersection of language, image and ritual. Author of Blue Dahlia and Twelve Other Poems (F Magazine, 2021), Apocalypsing (Blush Lit, 2023) and the forthcoming Her Gloves Against the Mirror (Blush Lit, 2025).

Anna Walsh is an Irish writer and editor. Their poetry and prose has been published by The Stinging Fly, The London Magazine, Extra Teeth and others. Their pamphlet Stag Do/Fantasy Horn was recently published by Ssnake Press and they are currently working on their debut novel.

Texture Texture is a band fronted by Ian Macartney. Usually their remit is "DANCE LIKE U SCARED" but for this Sunday night they'll be providing a droney landscape to Charlie McIlwain's words. Also, it's a solo set, so it might not even be a band. Maria Sledmere described them as "doom-disco" once upon a time (two years ago).

Donations: A zine with work by the readers will be available on the night, for a donation towards North Gaza: Food, Water & Other Distributions; a fundraising campaign organised by Translating Falasteen (Palestine) in collaboration with the Sameer Project, launched to support families in Gaza facing severe harships. The aid is being bought from existing products in the market and is NOT being brought through any border. A QR code and link to the campaign will be shared on the night and you can also donate directly here: https://chuffed.org/project/help-us-deliver-vital-aid-to-gaza-families-in-need.

Access: The Doublet upstairs bar and toilets are not wheelchair accessible. Seating is first come, first served, but if you have access needs for seating, email us at spamzine.editors@gmail.com and we will reserve.

Temple Run is a running game that never ends and has basic but addictive gameplay. Each level is easy for both new and experienced players to enjoy and challenge themselves.

I once had a running back break four tackles and score a crazy touchdown in Retro Bowl College, and I replayed it over and over just to watch it again. The pixel graphics make those moments feel so pure.
