We've been developing this new publication over the last year, as Season 1 of Glitches, a new series of hybrid publications at SPAM. We commissioned Iphgenia Baal as a writer we greatly admire whose expansive approach to writing and design sets a precedent for the glitchful publications we are looking to put out into the world at SPAM, alongside our poetry pamphlets.

How do you like this game? Black Scholes requires Black Skulls for invasive operation. Literary publishing is dead, deaf, dead, on the defensive.

A giant book that can be torn apart as posters, reassembled, reinvented and remixed. Written straight into inDesign, in this mash up text-visual playground, IB approaches all the BS, reaching out towards the ABCs that might have been. Start ripping!

The publication comes with an accompanying sound piece, a collaboration between Iphgenia Baal and FORSYTH which you can access through the physical publication and here.

A word from our editor-in-chief, Kirsty Dunlop:

I have been following IB's writing over many years now and I was ecstatic, to say the least, when she was up for working with us on this adventurous project. Baal has been committed to working within small press for over a decade now and has a unique approach to her work which is genuinely hybrid, moving between text, sound, image and pushing up against the boundaries of form, culture, print, expectations. Once you read one of Iphgenia's books, you'll want to read them all!

You can read a long-form review of her last publication Man Hating Psycho out with Influx Press here, where I also discuss the trajectory of her work, published in the late and beloved MAP Magazine in Glasgow.

I’m genuinely intrigued by Black Skulls — Iphgenia Baal’s work always captures that raw, urban edge that feels both intimate and chaotic at once. Reading about this new release made me think about how storytelling mirrors real-life complexities, especially how we manage relationships, creativity, and work. It reminds me of balancing deadlines and artistic freedom — something students face all the time too. That’s where finding the best management assignment help comes in handy, because it frees up space for inspiration and deeper thinking rather than just routine stress. Baal’s writing feels like a reminder that there’s beauty even in disorder, and I love how this publication keeps pushing those boundaries. Looking forward to reading Black Skulls and seeing how…

Before using a website, it can be helpful to review its general security measures and any available licensing information. This may be especially relevant for users in the United Kingdom, where online services are expected to meet specific regulatory standards. Looking into basic company information, betti casino reading the user agreement, and checking for secure data connections can provide a clearer understanding of how the platform operates. It may also be useful to understand how account verification is handled. Taking these steps can help users better understand the service and its structure before getting started.😀

I just read the post about Black Skulls by Iphgenia Baal and I love how experimental the whole project is. It reminded me of the time I tried creating my own mini zine in class, and it felt so freeing to mix text and visuals the way she does. I even used law dissertation help while figuring out how to organize my references for a research project back then, which made the writing less stressful. It really shows how creativity and planning can work together in unexpected ways.

It caught me off guard when I finally cleared that stubborn level in Geometry Dash. I went in expecting another reset, but walked away with a win.
