Yes, that's right, our online critical-creative platform is open for a limited period only from 5th October - 5th December for reviews, essays, interviews, SPAM cuts, and Archive Fever pieces. Email pitches, submissions, questions to spamzine.editors@gmail.com. There are no strict word counts, other than for SPAM Cuts. Get pitches in early for recent poetry/book titles! REVIEWS: reviews of recent and/or contemporary poetry collections, small press, poet's novel, hybrid experimental work, books of theory whose themes resonate with us and the ethos of our publications; reviews and essays on movements, craft or formal tendencies in poetry that resonate with the post-internet; reviews and essays on recent releases or phenomena in the world of art of art or music (sometimes also film and tv); essays or reviews which attend to underrepresented or marginalised writers; multi-media or collaborative reviews; criticism on poetry and ekphrasis; reviews of digital work, Electronic Literature; performative writing; criticism that explores post-internet tendencies in translation or beyond the Anglo-American context; examples can be found here !


ESSAYS: essays which attend to underrepresented scenes, publishers, reflections on poetry and value; writing of or against the digital humanities; hybrid and/or multi-media essays; collaborative essays; hot takes on pop culture phenomena with a political or polemic edge; art writing with a post-internet slant; cultural nostalgia and communism; writing which acknowledges its medical conditions; writing that takes a post-internet slant on topics such as the body; the everyday; the utopian; parataxis; queer ecologies; micro-forms; psychoanalysis; pedagogy; love and desire; examples can be found here!


INTERVIEWS: interviews with poets, hybrid writers, post-internet artists, small press publishers, performers, musicians; group interviews; interviews across different movements and international connections; transcribed interviews; written interviews; email interviews; interviews that explore 'practice as research'; conversations on the intersection of poetry, technology and everyday life; examples can be found here!


SPAM CUTS: single poem reviews between 350-1200 words with the poem freely available to read online and published ideally in the last six months; examples can be found here!


ARCHIVE FEVER: criticism and respective essays on poetry's long existence on the internet, from the archive and small press publishing of zines, in particular revisiting work from underrepresented or marginalised writers; critical work on media that tracks the changes from earlier forms of the internet to present modes of being online; the transition from web 1.0 to web 2.0; broken links; hauntology; fax and Xerox machine aesthetics; modernists who somehow predicted the internet; Blogspot musings; stylised gossip and in-jokes; the noughties; dial-up ekphrasis; examples can be found here and more information here!
